Diet Myths Part 3

It is really hard to tell the truth from the hype with all of the information out there in the world about dieting. I have compiled a list of dieting myths to assist you in your quest for truth and your journey to your weight loss goals.

Myth #1 If I skip meals I will lose weight faster
Truth: It has been proven in studies that people who skip breakfast and eat fewer times during the day tend to be heavier than those who eat a healthy breakfast and eat 5 or 6 times a day. Eating often keeps you from getting overly hungry and eating too much at your next meal. Eating often also keeps your metabolism running in high gear.

Myth #2 I should cut out dairy if I want to lose weight
Truth: Recent studies have shown that women who eat 3 to 4 servings of dairy daily, actually lose up to 40% more fat than those who don't. There is something nutritionally in dairy products that we don't get anywhere else. There are many non and low fat dairy products on the market today and the smart dieter is taking advantage of that.

Myth #3 Nuts are fattening and I should stay away from them if I want to lose weight.
Truth: Nuts are a great part of a successful weight loss plan. Nuts are high in essential fatty acids, these support many body functions and have been shown to aid in weight loss. Nuts should be eaten in moderation and only raw nuts have the nutritional benefits that support your weight loss.

Myth #4 The more strict the diet, the more weight I will lose
Truth: when a diet is really strict, eliminating whole categories of food, or only allowing you to eat certain foods, the less effective it will be. Chances are high that you will get tired of the diet, and tired of feeling like a failure because you can't live up to the strict rules, and quit. This starts the destructive beat up cycle that ends in more crash dieting, making your goal seem farther and farther away.

Myth #5 There are certain foods that I can never eat again
Truth: As soon as we tell ourselves that we can't have something, it is all we think about. When you agree to treat yourself to the foods you love once in a while, you will be less likely to binge. Also consider way to make your favorite foods lighter, maybe using light sour cream or whipped cream or using low fat cheese. There are many ways to enjoy healthier versions of your favorite foods.

By busting these diet myths you are further along the path to your goals. Keep your eyes open as new fad diets and gimmicks are happening all around you. Educate yourself and make changes that you can live with for a lifetime.

Over 90% of diets fail. Don't be another statistic! You can have the body you have always dreamed of! - Let me show you how Diet Myths

Shifting Calories - Theory or Fact?

Shifting Calories is the latest buzz word in the weight loss field. While in the recent past, the most popular diets were based on the deprivation of either calories or a certain food group such as carbs, fat or protein, Shifting Calories provides an entirely different approach to weight loss, one which provides a fast and continuous fat loss.

Shifting Calories works by supplying you with a menu of healthy, balanced meals which contain food which is right for you to eat at certain hours of the day. These meals are then constantly shifted around so your metabolism never gets used to any eating routine. This is important because it was discovered that deprivation diets (low carb, low fat, and low calorie) cause your metabolism to slow down, so you may lose weight with these diets in the beginning, but it gets harder and harder to lose more with time, and it is also difficult to maintain what you lost. But shifting your calories insures that this won't happen to you.

Is this just a theory or is anyone actually using it?

Calorie Shifting has been used by tens of thousands of people around the world. In fact, one of the most popular diets today, the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet (also known as Weight Loss 4 Idiots) is based on it. To say it's a theory would be ridiculous as it has a proven track record with tons of satisfied customers.

Following the shifting calories is relatively easy, since you follow a predetermined menu. But it takes discipline. You have to stick to the menu and not deviate from it. However, if you do stick to it, you have every chance to succeed.

Cellular telephones and computers have made communication very easy. There was a time that you only saw the wealthy or well-to-do individual with a cellular telephone. Nowadays, everybody has them. Everywhere you turn you see someone with a cellular telephone attached to his or her ear (or it seems to be attached). Before everyone had a cellular telephone, you would have to walk (or ride) to find a pay telephone to make a telephone call. Not anymore. You see people now with the telephones strapped to their sides, (when they are not talking on them). Why stop what you are doing to get up and make a telephone call, when you have a cellular telephone at your immediate disposal? If you dont want to talk to anyone, just send him or her a text message.

Computers are everywhere. When computers were first invented, there were only personal computers that had to sit on a desk or table. Nowadays, we have laptop computers that go with us everywhere we go. No more posting a letter. Just send an email. No need to go to the post office to post a letter. You dont even have to buy a stamp.

In order to gain control over our weight, we must start with realistic expectations. Rather than putting the entire focus on weight loss, we must look toward a healthier attitude when trying to gain control over our weight. A realistic goal for controlling our weight would be about ten pounds a month. With a diet and exercise program, this is a reachable target. We must remember that the weight did not appear all at one time, therefore, the weight will not disappear all at one time. Another deterrent in weight control management is the media. With all the hoopla regarding the many diet pills on the market, it is difficult to concentrate and focus on a healthy regime when trying to gain control over our weight. The media presents many ways of getting the perfect body shape and looks by proposing new diets that will work miracles, not to mention the exercise equipment that supposedly helps do the work for us.

Deciding what to do to control our weight, we must weed through all the diet commercials and diet paraphernalia to find what will fit our needs. Researching the dozens of diet regimes on the market today takes plenty of concentration remembering what our specific needs are. While trying to gain control over our weight, we must adhere to two main factors, diet and exercise. Diet and exercise is the means for losing weight and toning up at the same time.

Master Cleanser Weight Loss - Make it Last

The Master Cleanser weight loss plan has gotten a lot of hype lately, but it's actually been around a long time. With some Hollywood starlets extolling its virtues, many everyday folks are now giving the Lemonade Diet a try. Weight loss is fast and furious when you are consuming only this spicy lemonade concoction. The obvious question then is does the weight loss last?

If you are doing this particular lemonade fast just for weight loss you must be aware of a few key points. First and foremost look at the Master Cleanser weight loss as the first step. If you in need of dropping some weight, you'll notice a pretty substantial loss once you've completed the program. Your clothes will be looser and you'll have a smile on your face when you step on the scale. If you want to reap these weight loss benefits into the future you've got to make a promise to yourself not to go back to your unhealthy eating habits. The weight loss you enjoy while you are on the Master Cleanse can be permanent if you adopt a new healthier lifestyle.

A big part of success with the Master Cleanser comes from a new attitude. Once you've experienced the initial weight loss from drinking only the lemonade you should design a healthy eating plan that you know you can stick to long term. For most people this means a good balance between fresh ingredients and lean protein. It can be difficult to exercise while you are following the Master Cleanse Detox, but afterwards try your best to make exercise a part of your weekly routine. If you're not one for heading to the gym, take a walk around the block, or purchase a treadmill to use at home. Dancing is even a great form of exercise and all you need for that is some of your favorite music.

In addition to the maple syrup, cayenne pepper and fresh lemons, water makes up the biggest component of the program. Keep the habit of drinking water throughout the day even when the cleanser is over. Water is essential to helping flush out fat and toxins. If you tire easily of plain water, a little twist of lemon juice and you've got a great refreshing and familiar treat.

Once you've experienced the Master Cleanser weight loss you'll be pumped and ready to continue to lose weight. Nothing feels quite as fulfilling as looking in the mirror and seeing your body shrinking. Long term, we all want to be healthy, and being at our optimal weight is a great first step towards that.

On average, you can expect to lose between 15-20 lbs in just 14 days on the Master Cleanse. You can change the way your body looks and the way you feel. To find out how to get the best results possible from this proven weight loss method visit How to Succeed on the Master Cleanse.

It's not just about drinking lemonade!

While all foods contain at least some calories, there are some that are classified as negative calorie foods due to their overall affect on the body. This simply means that these particular foods use more caloric energy to eat and digest than they actually contain to begin with. The calories from these types of foods are more difficult to breakdown and process, making the body work harder to digest them, thus burning more than the foods original caloric content.

If we gain weight when we take in more calories than we expend, it only stands to reason that if we take in less calories than we burn, we will then lose weight. Roughly ten percent of our total daily caloric intake is actually used to process and digest the foods that weve eaten. If we decrease the calories we ingest, add more negative calorie foods to our diets while increasing our level of physical activity, the result is healthy weight loss and an elevated metabolism.

A perfect example is a piece of cake that contains roughly 400 calories, but that also uses up 150 of those calories to eat and digest it. This then leaves a net gain of 250 calories, which of course turn into fat. Now, if instead you decided to eat a salad that contained 250 calories, but uses 400 calories to completely digest, you will have actually burned 150 calories simply by eating the salad. If you ate a piece of fruit that contained 100 calories but used up 200 calories worth during the digestion process, you will have burned an extra 100 calories just by eating the fruit.

The more negative calories that you can incorporate into your diet while maintaining a regular exercise program, the more fat you will ultimately burn. Negative calorie foods should always be prepared fresh and naturally without any added ingredients such as butter or salt, which would only counteract the foods negative caloric affects. Negative calorie foods generally have a high fiber content, which is essential for dieters as it allows the body to feel fuller longer. Fiber also causes the body to work harder to process and breakdown the foods weve eaten.

Although water isnt considered a food, ice cubes can be used as a negative calorie source. Water contains no calories at all, but the body must put forth energy to consume the ice, and also to compensate for the decrease in body temperature. Many dieters use frozen sugar-free juice cubes as healthy treats that also require the expenditure of more calories than they actually contain.

When following a diet rich with negative calorie foods, its important to remember that these foods are comprised mostly of water and fiber, and while they are healthy, they also lack key nutrients, proteins, and certain vitamins and minerals that the body needs to thrive.

Some vegetables that are considered to be negative calorie foods are:

Asparagus
Beets
Broccoli
Cabbage
Carrots
Cauliflower
Celery
Chili peppers
Cucumbers
Endives
Garlic
Leeks
Lettuce
Onions
Peppers
Radishes
Spinach
Turnips
Zucchini

Some fruits that are considered to be negative calorie foods are:

Apples
Blackberries
Blueberries
Cranberries
Guava
Grapefruit
Honey dew melons
Lemons
Limes
Mangoes
Oranges
Peaches
Pineapple
Plums
Raspberries
Tangerines
Tomatoes
Watermelon

Defrazzle Your Weight Loss

The only time to eat diet food is while youre waiting for the steak to cook

Julia Child

I hate dieting. It doesnt matter what diet I follow, I gain weight. Its so frustrating! If I do find one that works, I usually find that right about the time Im getting used to the diet, my life ends up creating situations where I need to be eating out a lot, or spending time with friends and food. ARGH!

Ive stopped dieting now. Im just working on healthy lifestyle habits that I can work with anywhere, at any time and that allow for life to happen, so I dont need to panic.

Now, believe me, Im no expert, so check with your doctor before you follow ANY of my advice Im just a fellow mom, trying to get back into pre-baby clothes! I have found some things to be consistent in the myriad of ever-changing diet/health rules, and Id like to share them with you here. So ladies, if you want to lose those extra 10 pounds (or more) that just refuse to disappear, here are some tips that are finally working for me:

Pick Your Time

Weight loss involves very personal issues for most people, and is closely related to their self esteem. It is crucial that you attempt to lose 10 pounds at the appropriate time - at a time where you otherwise feel good and satisfied with your life. If you try and lose 10 pounds during a period of time in your life where you have a lot of stress or other distracting things going on, you drastically increase your chances of failure, which will only make things worse.

Do It With Friends

A great and fun way to help you stick with your plan is to undertake your project of losing 10 pounds with a friend. Not only will you be able to provide support for each other and track each other's progress, but you'll be able to engage in fun exercise activities together.

Make Your Plan Realistic

It's important that you set achievable goals for yourself. For example, with just some basic changes in your lifestyle and eating habits, you can lose 1 pound a week. There's no need to be in a huge rush to lose weight, and trying to lose weight quickly often requires a regimen that is difficult to keep up. For most people, it is healthier to lose weight slowly than with drastic dietary changes.

Exercise in the Morning on an Empty Stomach

There are two main reasons why you can more easily lose 10 pounds by exercising in the morning. The first has to do with the fact that it is much easier to build into your daily routine. One of the keys to losing weight by exercise is to do it regularly, which many people find difficult: it's always hard to find time. So a great reason for exercising in the morning is that you'll have very little distraction. In many ways, you are literally "making time" for the exercise by starting your day earlier. The second reason is that if you exercise in the morning on an empty stomach, you're burning energy at a time when your body's carbohydrate levels are the lowest, and therefore more fat will be burned with the same amount of exercise. There have been studies that suggest over 250% more fat is burned when you exercise in this state.

Balance Your Diet

Try as much as possible to balance your diet. This doesn't mean that you have to starve yourself -- rather make a point of getting no more the 30% of your calories from fat. Eat more fruits and vegetables and try to add as much variety to your diet as possible. Try new things, and new meal ideas. A great rule of thumb is to take a 9 plate and divide it into quarters. One quarter is starch/carbohydrate (potatoes, pasta, rice), one quarter is protein (meat, beans, tofu) and half is vegetables.

Keep Track Of Your Progress

The problem with dieting for many people, especially in the early stages, is that even if the diet is working they can't see any results. It's hard to really notice if you lose 1 pound. For this reason it's important that your track your progress, so you can have a good sense of the accomplishments you've made. Dont just track pounds, make sure you are also tracking inches by keeping track of the measurements of the main body areas: bust, waist, hips, thighs, calves, and even your upper arm.

Incorporate Exercise into your Daily Routine

Another good idea is to try and get some exercise while you're at work. Think how often you end up staying in your office on your lunch break. Instead, why not take a walk? It may not seem like much, but if you did that every day, you'd be walking 5 hours a week, which is a pretty great start towards getting some more exercise. On the weekends and in the evenings, take up a sport or an active hobby like hiking. The key is to find ways that you can get exercise while also doing things you enjoy.

You can lose 10 pounds fairly quickly by starting a serious exercise regimen, of course, but that's not necessarily the best way to do it. If you make your exercise like work, it'll start to feel like work, and it will become tempting to put it off and avoid it. If you incorporate exercise into your daily routine, however, it won't seem like work at all - it will be fun. And the best part of all is that the more you exercise the more energy you'll have: instead of being tired when you come home from work, you'll feel like doing something active. Before you know it that 10 pounds you lost might become 20.

So, there you have it! Try implementing one tip a week and making a habit out of it. Youll drop those pounds in no time!

Tipping the scales in your favour!

Is Water The Secret Weight Loss Ingredient?

Why should the amount of water you drink affect weight loss? H2O is essential to our bodies. How much you drink may directly affect how much you lose. It may be the "miracle drug" we all want to get rid of excess weight. Once you've got the amount of calories you take in under control, the water you drink may play a bigger role in losing weight than you realize.

Most folks can't figure out why they need to drink more if they are already retaining water. That bloat you feel is how your body is responding to a lack of water. It is convinced you aren't getting enough and therefore saving every drop. So instead of flushing out a lot of impurities in your system, you keep them along with the water.

Your system needs water to get the gunk out of your system. When you drink more, it washes out the impurities your body would otherwise not get rid of because of a lack of water. Once the floodgates open, your system absorbs the water and pushes out the extra gunk it's been holding on to. All this makes you go to the bathroom more. The more nasty stuff you've got stored up the longer this process takes, but chin up, it will all settle down and soon you'll be back to a more normal routine.

If your kidneys have the water they need to work properly they can wash out impurities to keep you running smoothly. Without enough water, your liver takes over some of those duties. Since the liver is the organ that metabolizes fat, your body must store fat rather than process it. When your body has the water it needs, everything can work together at optimal efficiency.

So how much should you drink? It depends on a few factors.

Normally if you drink an 8 oz. glass 8 times per day, it's enough. Add another glass for every additional 25 pounds you are overweight. Add a glass or two for every beverage you drink containing caffeine . Caffeine draws water out of your system so you need to replace it. Drink more if you live in a hot climate or if you exercise vigorously. And drink plenty of water if you drink alcohol. Most hangovers are due to dehydration caused by alcohol.

"Do I HAVE to drink PLAIN water all the time?" No, though you should consider drinking mostly plain water. Once you get used to it, you may find you actually prefer just plain water. Flavored waters usually contain artificial sweeteners. Who knows what effect large quantities can have on you over time? If it helps, why not try adding a little lime or lemon juice to your water? Many find it very refreshing.

There is some debate on the best temperature to drink water. Some say refrigerated water is bad for you. Others insist it doesn't matter. One point that does make sense is avoiding very cold water when you are very hot. The idea the temperature extremes could shock your system seems reasonable. Aside from this, it's better to drink than not to drink so imbibe at whatever water temperature you like most.

It may be wise to stop drinking a couple or so hours before bedtime to prevent too many nocturnal trips to the rest room. Though some think a glass before bed may help you sleep better, few people sleep well with a bursting bladder.

Getting enough water in your system can be one of the best things you can do for your health. Water helps your body in so many ways -- from your cells to your skin -- it would be unwise to ignore this crucial factor in your weight loss efforts.

It is important to understand the difference between exercising to lose weight and exercising to maintain a healthy heart and body. Most people will perform enough physical activity in their daily routines to support a program on how to lose fat fast. This is not to say that it will provide enough for a healthy heart and body because that has much more to do with elevating and maintaining heart rate for a period of time. Since we are talking about how to lose fat fast let's address where we need to start.

Everything you need to understand has to first do with what, how and when you eat. You do not have to drastically reduce any of the body's need for nutrients in the way of carbs, protein and fat. You need to learn how to properly balance the correct amount of each in order to control your metabolism and have it continue to burn that fat at a high rate while fueling the body on a daily basis.

The basics of how to lose fat fast can be achieved through good eating habits that do not leave you feeling hungry or tired and this will allow for increased physical activity if you choose to build muscle at the same time.

Many severely overweight or obese people make the mistake of drastically cutting essential nutrients in order to drop weight off quickly but it end up having the opposite result. When you do not feed your body the proper nutrients that provide the fuel necessary to get through the day it does not allow for proper physical activity. most would say that is okay because I have reduced the amount of carbs or calories I am eating so I will lose weight. This is not entirely true. While you will see an initial drop in weight it will not continue and here is why.

When you rob the body of the nutrients it needs to fuel itself you cannot perform the minimal physical activity necessary and your metabolism will automatically adjust to burning calories at the rate you are taking them in. This is what is known as the weight loss wall most people hit on popular fad diets.

The key in how to lose fat fast and keep it off is balancing the proper amount of carbs, fat and proteins in a rotational basis which feeds the body the fuel it needs for physical activity and keeps the metabolism operating at a higher rate.

Fast Weight Loss - Miracle or Science?

If you want to loose weight then as per my experience, you do not need a miracle. You just need a plan which should be based on a science.

I am using the calorie shifting method from last 5 years for me and my clients to reduce weight and being healthy. So can you.

What is this calorie shifting method?

Before explaining this method I want to give you a brief idea about a calorie.

A calorie is the unit of energy which is equal to the heat given to raise th temperature of 1 kilogram of water to 1 degree.

your body needs certain amount of calorie to run your body for your day to day activity. If you are a doing a sitting job then you need much lesser calorie than an athlete.

In this method you need not to starve yourself as people usually suggest. In fact you will be taking proper diet as per your liking. The only difference in taking your diet is that you will take different foods in your diet to fulfill your calorie requirements. For your personalized food schedule, you need to take advice of your nutritionist who will make different food plans for different days of an week. You can even opt from one of several online programs by which you can make your food plan by yourself.

The only important factor for your success in this method is that you should follow your plan religiously. Some of my clients have even achieved the loss of 9lbs in just 11 days. So, plan and act now.

Wishing you success,

Urwashi Gupta is an author with 10 years of experience in fitness training, a nutritionist, and online fitness coach for weight loss. She has written a review of the most famous online fat loss program at http://the-fat-loss.info

How To Lose 15 Pounds Fast

If you're wondering how to lose 15 pounds fast, live a busy life, cannot devote time for conventional dieting and exercise, then there is a method of dieting which does help you lose weight very quickly without having to worry about all those things. It is called calorie shifting.

This is a dieting technique that raises metabolism and fat burning and keeps it high causing weight loss to happen very quickly. You can lose 15 pounds fast and in most cases within 15 days or less with calorie shifting. This dieting technique is basically done by eating 4 or more meals a day, keeping the calorie values of each meal different than the one before or after it, and shifting the order in which you eat the meals.

That's just a generalization. In reality calorie shifting is very easy to complete. For one, you are allowed to eat almost any foods you like. Secondly you 4 or more meals a day which means you will not have to starve or deprive yourself of anything. Thirdly this is a highly flexible diet because all you do is eat in different orders while following the above guidelines and watch the pounds melt away. This diet is unique in the sense that you can lose weight while you eat, sleep, work and attend to daily chores.

In addition calorie shifting is safe and all natural. Scientific studies have shown that mixing the order in which you eat meals naturally causes the body to increase metabolism and fat burning. It's an instinctive reaction your body undergoes. This will cause weight to drop very quickly. Plus the effect of calorie shifting remains for months after you've stopped doing it. So if you're still wondering how to lose 15 pounds fast, then I recommend you consider calorie shifting. Often times people can lose up to a pound or more with this diet.

If you're still skeptical about calorie shifting and are doubtful if it works or not then I recommend you visit this page, to get a deeper understanding of WHY calorie shifting works in addition to how to do it and the best way to accomplish it.

Weight Loss and Rocket Science

'Weight loss isn't rocket science. It's more complicated than that.'

Well, actually weight loss isn't complicated. Human behavior, however, may give rocket scientists a run for their money. Anytime a weight loss program, pill or device claims to be revolutionary we suggest steering clear. However, here is a revolutionary idea I think we could all live with. Most of us have worried for years about attaining our "ideal" body weight and shape. Height and weight tables are everywhere. Far from "ideal" these height and weight tables are often inaccurate and suggest that "one size fits all". A great deal of research now indicates that even modest amounts of weight loss (as little as 5% of body weight) results in a wealth of health benefits. Chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, mood disorders and many other medical problems are improved if not reversed with even modest weight loss. In short, these research findings change everything with respect to weight loss and our 'ideal' body weight and shape.

So what is the best exercise to lose weight? What is the best diet to choose? In short, the one you enjoy because it is the one you will stick with. Walking more often and eating a balanced diet according to Canada's Food guide is a great place to start. By doing these two things, most can attain a healthier weight, increase energy levels, improve self-esteem and reduce the risk of health complications. So set your first goal to be a modest amount of weight loss and let this be your first step to a healthier lifestyle and improved quality of life.

No two people are alike when it comes to weight loss, therefore we need to become our own health experts. What causes one person to over eat may cause another to not eat at all. Take stress for example. Does pressure at work cause you to eat more or does it decrease your appetite? In order to find out, monitor your behavior, actions, moods and feelings frequently. If you find yourself overeating, write down the time, location, your mood, when you ate last, and who you are with. Keep this diary and be a detective to determine what triggers the over eating behavior. This will allow you to avoid, moderate or stop these behaviors all together. In general, people tend to over eat when they are "HALT". Add your own unique behaviors to the following list.

Hungry - Skip a meal? Skip breakfast? Beware of 'rebound eating' when you are really hungry.

Angry - Determine the emotions that cause you to over eat and find a substitute to your eating behavior.

Lonely - Do you eat when you are bored or home alone? Call a friend or write a letter.

Tired - Not getting enough sleep and trying to find energy with food? This may lead to craving junk food and drinking excess amounts of coffee.

Keep in mind that changing your habits takes practice. Do not expect to master these skills over night. Keeping a diary of your behaviors and a list of short term goals is a great way to make positive lifestyle change. Focus on the positive choices you've made as well the habits you would like to change. This will create confidence in your ability to make permanent lifestyle change. Remember, you've achieved a lot already, now let's add healthy habits to your list of accomplishments.

Anne Collins Weight Reduction Program

I was doing some research lately on the Internet and stumbled upon a website managed by Anne Collins. Her website is jam-packed with tons of information about her weight loss program, tips, resources, information, testimonials, products and anything you need to find out about losing weight. I was very impressed and decided that I had to bookmark this site and come back from time to time.

I am not endorsing her program because I have not tried it myself. However, I must give her credit for providing lots of information for her clients and visitors to make it a friendly site instead of one that is more commercial than enlightening. She does have a host of knowledgeable stuff, so it can be overwhelming to browse all at one time.

Her weight loss reduction program has peeked my interest. Her claim is that she has been helping people to lose weight for the past twenty-four years so her record speaks for itself. She provides a diet without the hunger and helps you to stay motivated during your dieting experience. She uses a system that offers support, no forbidden foods, no drugs or pills, but a permanent weight loss structure.

Cabbage soup and low carb diets are only temporary according to Ms. Anne Collins. With her system she offers to teach you how to make realistic and sustainable changes to your eating habits forever. You will learn an easy plan on how to improve your lifestyle that you will be able to maintain permanently.

Ms. Collins also provides a number of success stories with before and after photos to show the reality of how others have had weight loss success. She provides a book with her program that lays out what kinds of food you need to include on your shopping list as well as an exclusive private member site for a whole year where you will get on-going support from her and other members.

In her private member site, she provides weight charts, foods to eat, dieting tips, diet issues, exercise, nutrition and information about eating out. She claims that her program is approved by a Dr. Tina Ambury is a Very Experienced and Highly Respected Physician, who gives a testimonial on her website. When I got down to the end of her sales page, I was shocked that all she charges for the entire year is only $19.97, which computes to $0.38 per week. There is also a 60-day money back guarantee.

Ms. Collins must be doing well because her Page Rank is high and I think it may have a lot to do more with the numerous pages that she has of articles, resources and information. The information may be worth more than the program, but the point is that most people that give weight loss advice and offer different weight loss products think of it as a business. Not many people will actually do this for free, but when someone offers free information along with their product, they are to be commended even if it is for other ulterior motives.

Are You Sabotaging Your Weight Loss System?

Losing weight and keeping it off is a great goal, but it's usually a challenge. It's more than just eat less, move more. There are so many variables that can affect a good diet. Sometimes people work against themselves without even knowing it. Any good weight loss system will help you drop the pounds, but if you make any of these common mistakes you might just be sabotaging yourself unknowingly.

Innocent Extra Mouthfuls - Did you know that most people have no idea how many calories they consume on a daily basis? In fact, even registered dietitians often underestimate their calorie intake by as much as 20%! The extra calories often come from "hidden" sources, like those 4 pretzels your grabbed on the way out the door (40 calories), or the 2 peanut M&M's you snatched (20 calories). These little extras that you don't think "really count" add up and can equal 100-200 extra calories a day! That's a pound a month. Keep a food journal and record everything you eat and you'll find that you might be eating way more than you think.

Not Drinking Enough Water - Many people often mistake thirst for hunger. They reach for a snack instead of giving their body what it really needs: a cool glass of water. If you make sure to drink the recommended 6-8 glasses of water a day you can stop this fake "hunger." Avoid sugary sodas and even diet colas, as these contain caffeine that actually works against your attempts at rehydration.

Bedtime "Meals" - Some people have bedtime snacks. Others tend to have more of a bedtime meal. Keep your bedtime snack small; roughly 100 calories. This will not only assist in your attempt to eat less but you'll also sleep much better. It doesn't really matter if you eat before bed, in fact it might be a good idea to keep your metabolism going. However, it does matter how much you eat. Keep the snacks small.

No Plan - Many people just tell themselves "I'm going to lose weight." Which is great, but that's all they do. It's extremely hard for most people to lose the fat by simply attempting to eat less. Instead, it's recommended that you find a good diet plan and stick to it. A good program will help you change your overall eating habits and ensure you get proper nutrition. Also, you will learn how to eat healthier for life.

Keep these tips in mind as you follow a good weight loss system, and your efforts will be all the more successful.

Locating Effective Weight Loss Drugs

Are you frustrated being weighing the same even after months of working out at the gym, following relatively harder exercise routines? Would we reach your dining table while we trace the reasons why you still weigh so much? Has your daily intake of food changed substantially? If so, it is time to rethink your lifestyle. Exercise and the consumption of the right food in the right portions will do the trick for you, a trimmer, healthier you.

I joined the local gym about 10 years ago and I was at that time pretty surprised for not developing a 20 inch bicep. However the personal trainer was a kind person who showed me the way. He suggested a diet to follow along with the workout routine. I found most of the regular visitors to the gym have pretty athletic body and I could not believe they were carrying more fat on their body than they could. If you have no lax point about pressing weight gain problem, it may be time you think about weight loss drugs. Saying it once again; try it only after trying out exercise, dieting combo.

I take it that you have heard about weight loss drugs in the past. Most of the hearing can be on the negative effects of weight loss drugs and probably you may be afraid of using any weight loss drugs. Let truth be said. Do you honestly believe all weight loss drugs are the same? Do you honestly believe weight loss drugs have no effect on your body? It may be time to take a rethink. However good the weight loss drug be, there is no magic shot that can burn away all the excess fat in your body. If any drug claims to do so, beware of them and better keep away from them.

The first thing to do after unsuccessfully following a healthy exercise and diet program at least for six months is to consult your physician to check your hormonal levels. She may be able to prescribe you weight loss drugs that can help you balance the influences that negatively affects your weight loss efforts. Skipping directly to weight loss drugs way, is asking for trouble. This search of magic pills is the reason why there are many bogus companies up and always ready to help you part your money with.

While you plan a healthy weight loss program with your physician, you will be prescribed the weight loss drugs that will help you cut that extra fat and help you stay fit as a fiddle. Always be the centre of attraction with a good healthy physique. Dont give it up. A healthy body is your right. Let no weight loss drug company take advantage of it.

Healthy Weight Loss Techniques

Being overweight affects you in various ways. The most obvious is physical appearance. Others include the quality of life, your self esteem, health risks, physical impairments and depression. Many positive changes occur when you experience weight loss. This is the reason many people search for weight loss techniques that help them lose weight in a healthy and consistent manner.

Of course, if you are obese, have a medical condition or are under the care of a physician, it is best to consult with your doctor first. Other than that, if you are in relatively good health, using common sense and good judgement should be enough to allow you to proceed.

The following tips can help facilitate your weight loss program:

1/ Successful weight loss consists of a multi-faceted approach. This includes changing your diet (not dieting), exercise, goal setting and possibly some diet supplements (natural ones are the best). Eliminating processed and prepared foods are a great first step. Eating whole grains, vegetables and fruit will improve health and allow effortless weight loss. Include some exercise, at least every other day. Walking is low impact and possible for almost everyone.

2/ Setting goals are important, but equally important is knowing what goals to set. Believe it or not, establishing you ideal weight may not be the best way to proceed. A better goal may be to transform your lifestyle so that weight loss is an inevitable byproduct of those changes.

3/ Don't eat for three hours before bed. This can be difficult for some. I does, however, provide great benefits and is worth the effort. Not only will this allow you to lose weight, but you will sleep more soundly and have a clearer mind the next day.

4/ Chew your food extremely well. When food is well chewed, up to 90% of digestion will take place in your mouth. This takes a burden off the stomach and intestines. Just as important, it allows you to be satisfied much sooner. This means that you'll naturally eat less, paving the way for natural weight loss.

5/ Natural herbal fat burners can be helpful for some people. It allows you to kick start your weight loss program. It is important to do your homework and to make sure that the product you choose is all natural and healthful.

Discipline and consistency are important for a successful weight loss program. Changing your diet, appropriate exercise and common sense lifestyle changes all contribute to your healthy weight loss success.

How to Lose Weight

The healthiest way towards weight loss is neither the bursts of exercise nor the crash diets. In terms of exercise and food, the body likes to have slow changes.

For instance, if you have not exercised for years, you need not rush to run miles a day or pound the treadmill. This will not only leave you disheartened and unmotivated, there is more likelihood that you may injure yourself. This can set your fitness levels even further. The same applies for those, who begin to starve themselves suddenly.

Hence, in order to lose weight, you need more than ordinary steps.

Disadvantages of Excess Weight Gain:

Obesity has many disadvantages. Heart disease is the main risk that obese people suffer from. Secondly, they are more prone to stroke, diabetes and high blood pressure. Based on a recent research carried out in America, obese people are more likely to die prematurely as compared to their healthier counterparts.

Hence, it is important for obese people to remain aware of their conditions and change their lifestyle and diet as early as possible to lose weight.

*Simple Steps to Lose Weight:

Below mentioned are some simple tools that can help you to lose weight:-

1. The best food by which you can lose weight is salads. They have gained much popularity amongst dieters who want to lose their weight fast. If you feel that your salad is bland, do not add cream or sauce to improve the taste of your food.

2. You can also eat baked potatoes in your breakfast. It is a good food and helps you to lose weight.

3. Always remain careful with what you add. Do not neutralize the weight loss benefits of food, when you select the best amongst them.

4. Always eat a high quality food with your snack or meal.

Follow these steps and you are sure to lose weight.

Weight Loss Resolution

Having a weight loss resolution is sometimes harder than resolving to earn more money. But if that's really what you want or need to do then here are a couple of suggestions to get you started.

Be clear about your situation.

Know your weight and body mass index. Know exactly how many pounds you need to lose. Visit your doctor to see if there are any other health conditions you have and should be aware of. You may already be in danger of having diabetes or hypertension and must therefore further reduce intake of foods rich in sugar, oils, and fats. Respiratory problems may also make strenuous exercises unacceptable for your health. It's better to know all these things before you start working on keeping your weight loss resolution.

Design a diet plan.

Diligent research can easily help you formulate the ideal diet plan for your health and needs. But if you don't think you're up to the task, consult a doctor, fitness expert, or nutritionist to help you come up with the right diet regime. When making a diet plan on your own, remember to take into consideration your level of self-control as well as the amount of money and time needed to stick to the diet plan.

Design an exercise plan.

The ideal exercise plan combines routines to develop your strength, stamina, and flexibility. Of course, you're welcome to increase more repetitions or types for any of the three if that's what you feel you should concentrate more on. Exercise always accompanies diet and vice versa. Diet may help you lose weight but it won't help in making your body adjust properly to the changes it undergoes. Exercise can, however, ensure that you won't end up having loose flabby skin when the pounds fall off your body.

Get a pedometer.

Studies show that people with generally inactive lifestyles only walk about two or three thousand steps a day. Adding 2,000 steps to that figure will only help you maintain your weight. Only if you go beyond that will walking help you lose weight. A pedometer can let you know how you're doing everyday. This is especially helpful if you're always on the go and have no time for stationary exercises. When shopping for a pedometer, remember to test it out first. If you take a hundred steps, an accurate pedometer could give you a reading ranging between eighty-five to a hundred five steps. If your pedometer shows otherwise, try changing its position before retesting it.

Find other ways to exercise.

If you find yourself getting bored with your solitary forms of exercise, consider other alternatives like picking up a new sport or any physical hobby. Call up your friends and have them join you for a weekly running session. Explore your spirit of adventure. Rock climbing is, for instance, exciting and challenging but it's a good way to exercise your heart and body as well.

Eat more small meals than fewer big meals.

Restricting yourself to breakfast, lunch, and dinner makes it easier for you to rationalize eating more than you should. Rather than make yourself open to temptation, just eat more but smaller meals each day.

Nibble only as a last resort.

Resist the urge to nibble! It's easy to tell ourselves that no harm can come from nibbling but the next thing you know is that one nibble has become the equivalent of a hundred nibbles for the whole day! If there's no actual and urgent need for you to nibble, don't!

Have an emergency healthy snack ready.

There will be times that you'll get stuck in a place where there's no food considered acceptable by your diet regime. As such, the next logical choice is to eat what's available rather than starve to death, right? That's true...but only if you haven't an emergency healthy snack tucked away. Always be prepared! You might have no way of predicting when such emergencies will occur but you're at least prepared to meet them head on.

Drink lots of water.

Water will not only detoxify your body, but it can also keep you feel full far longer than usual. Drink water as well instead of sodas or any other beverage. Water won't make you gain weight but the same can't be said for other drinks.

Stretchercise for Health and Weight Loss

I never used to stretch. Then I lost over 186 pounds. Now I stretch.

If you do not exercise, you probably are not going to, so do what you can easily do for your health. If you do exercise, and you are going to continue, you can easily add stretching for your health. Take a lesson from cats.

Cats don't exercise. They stretch a lot; cats stretch immediately in several directions when waking from sleep or a nap, and will most often stretch almost any time they go from lying or sitting to standing. They even stop to stretch just because as they're walking somewhere.

Stretch your way to better health. Stretching has previously been considered a program for seniors or those recuperating; however, if you are overweight stretching may be a life saver for you. Stretching promotes elasticity in our muscles and joints and keeps us limber. How limber you are determines how you react to a slip and fall; it makes the difference between being injured and being able to catch yourself to prevent or minimize injury.

Stretching is also an excellent aid to diet and weight loss for the overweight or obese, and particularly for the morbidly obese; it is even appropriate for childhood adolescent obesity. The more overweight we are, the harder it is for us to exercise even if we want to: stretching lets us keep our muscles working and is the perfect way to enter the exercise arena as you lose weight.

Overweight and out of shape, or fit trim and in shape, any stretching program should start with care and caution. Consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program. Stretchercise as a program is done in multiple small doses many times during the day. If you do not exercise and get little physical motion, you should stretch for 2-5 minutes every hour.

One of the great things I discovered about stretching is that you can do it at length, with or without music, as an exercise program. Or you can do it for 30 seconds to a minute once an hour. In fact, much of it you can do while you're working, as a stress reducing little multi-task. You can do it watching TV, you can do it when you cook: you can actually make any movement you make a stretch.

And it feels good. And it increases circulation. And it reduces stress, muscle tension and fatigue. And it gives the muscles in your back that have been supporting you a much needed periodic respite. And it gives you energy.

As we age, flexibility decreases: it's use it or lose it. Stretching is an important factor in keeping muscles and joints flexible. The more flexible we are as we age, the fewer number of things become too hard for us to do, and the fewer aches and pains we have. Irrespective of health, it certainly extends our ability to maintain a satisfying quality of life. Stretchercising also helps if you have any weight control issues.

When stretching, you can use the corner of a wall as a stabilizing factor, which allows you to lean and stretch without fear of losing your balance. Whether you are doing your stretching on the floor, bed, in a chair, or standing, stretching to your favorite music tape will make time fly if you're stretching to exercise. (Minimum time to call it stretchercise should be 3 minutes to start, and as you become accustomed to it gradually continue to increase the amount of time.)

Stretching at your computer, be it your arms or just easily leaning side to side is good for you. You can tighten and loosen muscles of the arms, legs, and derrire any place, most any time. You can roll your neck; this is a great tension buster and helps prevent headaches.

Be sure when you stretch that you only go as far as is comfortable. Stretching should never hurt. You will probably find that, over time, you will begin to be able to do each stretch a little further comfortably. You may want to do a little research at your local bookstore, library, or on the Internet about yoga; it will provide many ideas and much helpful information about healthy stretching.

One last great thing I discovered about stretching: there are so many ways, places, and times to do it and so many muscles that can, and should, be stretched, anybody can become a master stretcher by trial and stretchercise.

Three Day Diet

You will find a huge cross section of fast weight loss diets doing the rounds at the moment. All of these weight busting plans have one aim, to make you slimmer. Providing you are sensible and you stick to only one diet at a time, you should succeed and notice some visible results quite quickly. The types of food you are allowed on theses fat busting diets vary from plan to plan. With any fast process there is always sacrifice, this is no exception. All these rapid weight loss plans predominantly use starving techniques.

There are a few lose weight fast plans out there that claim you can lose up to 10 pounds in three days. These plans will more than likely involve no food at all and rely on you just drinking liquid.

Using a three day diet you will be told you can expect to see a weight loss in the region of 5 to 10 pounds. Three day diets have two big problems in my opinion. One, You will probably put the weight straight back on again after your three days. Two, they can cause some health that you will want to take into consideration.

These diets are created to achieve a very rapid weight loss; the weight has to come of your body somewhere. Three day diets target your water retention as water is easily gotten rid of and weight quite a bit. All you would lose after your three days is your body water and no fat lose would occur.

Visit my Site now at http://www.womensweightloss.org to read anything you ever wanted to know about Weight loss.

No matter who we are, we all have days when we just do not feel like exercising. The weather might be grey, youve had a busy day, or you might just be bored with your program. Whatever the reason, you just dont feel like it!

Its on these days that we need that extra motivation.

Ive been exercising regularly for most of my life so Ive had plenty of those days. To get me through, Ive compiled a list of tactics to help motivate me.

Read something inspiring!
It could be a biography, quote, poem, or song. Use other peoples experiences to give you that lift.

Start a walking group!
It's more social and you all get to feed off the motivation of each other.

Think of exercise as a menu rather than a diet!
Make a list of activities and choose 1 each day.

Use a training journal!
By keeping track of your activities you can see the improvements in your fitness week to week.

Start an interest or hobby that requires physical fitness!
It could be bushwalking, rock-climbing, tennis, golf, or scuba-diving. If you require physical fitness to enjoy the activity you will be more inclined to train for it.

Increase your incidental activity!
This is the amount of activity you do in your normal course of your day, the activity not generally classed as exercise. You could: walk to work, take the stairs instead of the elevator, get up to change the channels instead of using the remote, or play with the kids for 15 minutes per day.

Try cross-training!
If your exercise program is always the same then break it up with one session per week of swimming, bike riding, jogging, sprints, or circuits. You could even play a different sport and use it as a training session.

Use a personal trainer!
Personal trainers can provide motivation as well as training variety.

Use an exercise video!
If exercising in public places is not for you, then try training at home. There are many forms of training available on video including: boxing, aerobics, pilates, and yoga.

Just start!
You will always be able to find excuses not to train so don't think about it, just walk out the door.

Listen to music!
Put on the stereo or use a walk-man. Music certainly helps the time go faster.

Watch TV!
Most fitness centers currently have a cardio theatre where you watch your favorite shows whilst you work out.

Read about the benefits of exercise!
We all know that exercise is good for us but do you know why it is? Reading a reputable publication on exercise can inform you of the great ways exercise can improve your life. It's more than just being able to walk up those stairs!

Don't complicate things, make it simple!
You don't have to find a fitness centre or join a Tai Chi group. Just find a nice park and go for a walk or run.

Create a list of reasons you want to be healthy and read it regularly
It may be to improve health, play with the kids, or trek through India. Whatever the reasons write them down.

This is just 15 of the 50 motivational tips I have collected. To see the rest go to: 50 Motivational Tips for Weight Loss

Can modern medicine play a role in the struggle against obesity? Xenical has traditionally been a prescription only capsule prescribed to obese patients, and recently, the FDA released the other diet pills over the counter - Alli.

Both products contain the active ingredient Orlistat, a lipase inhibitor that helps prevent fat being absorbed into the body.

1. SAFETY OF OF XENICAL AND ALLI DIET PILLS DIET PILLS

When taken at meal times, Orlistat reduces the amount of fat that is broken down in the stomach and absorbed into the body by about 30%. Instead, fats are expelled naturally in faces, thus helping towards weight loss.

It sounds ideal for those of us who struggle to keep to a healthy diet. However, the active ingredient, Orlistat, is usually only prescribed to obese people with a body mass index in excess of 30kg/m. So if you are not dangerously overweight, it may not be the right option for you.

2. SIDE EFFECTS - - Uncontrollable anal discharges (taking this drug could result in embarrassing situations)

- Oily stools

- Diarrhea or loose stools

- Liver inflammation

- Fatigue.

3. ARE THERE ANY SAFE EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVES?

There are hundreds of weight loss products on the market, but few have been clinically proven to be effective. There are products on the market that are proven to have very similar benefits to Orlistat in reducing fat in take, but with out the nasty side effects.

* Hoodia - You can consider this diet capsule to get rid of your obesity problems naturally. Supplements in Hoodia features high potential to reduce weight significantly. I has the capacity to restrain your appetite by up to 2000 calories each day.

* Opuntia Ficus-Indica - Another most valuable natural weight loss supplements to reduce your weight. It is also called as Barbary or Indian Fig. It is very effective in the process of weight loss. Researches have found that cacti fibers are of great use, when it encounters exess fat. It holds up instantly and creates big molecule for your body to take up. Moreover, this process helps to reduce the cholesterol level in your bloodstream.

* Shellfish - It greatly help to reduce your weight above your expected level. It is advisable by the dieticians to consume three times a week to get a positive outcome.

* Proactol - the UK weight loss pills is a relatively new weight management product that also reduces fat from the food we eat by around 30%, but in a different way.

It is a safe, clinically proven fat binder based on a patented fiber complex, that rather than just preventing fat from being broken down, pulling in fat molecules and binding them into a viscous solution in the stomach. Fat is prevented from entering the body without the embarrassing side effects. Initial user feedback is extremely positive, and as well as reducing fat intake.

4. BENEFITS

- Helps to suppress appetite

- Helps to reduce cholesterol levels

- Decreases food cravings

As with the most weight loss supplements, the best way is the combination with a healthy diet and exercise.
